A printing technician works in an office setting to either prepare large projects for print on a digital or laser printer or to reproduce the work of an artist in a printed format using advanced equipment. In this role, you prepare files on a computer, program the printer to the correct settings, and complete the final steps of production after the project prints. As a printing technician, you work directly with clients to ensure that the job is up to their standards. You monitor printing progress, perform basic maintenance on printing machines, such as cleaning and replacing toner, and complete any other duties specific to the job on which you are working.
