A Brief Overview
The 3D Lab Printing Engineer performs advanced technical work related to medical 3D printing, image segmentation, model preparation, and associated workflows supporting clinical, educational, and research activities. This role operates and maintains specialized 3D printing equipment and software, supports development and optimization of printing workflows, and collaborates with radiologists, clinicians, and technical staff to produce high-quality anatomical models and related outputs. Provides technical guidance and training to staff as needed.

What you will do

  • Performs advanced image segmentation, model preparation, and medical 3D printing workflows using specialized software and equipment.
  • Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots 3D printers and related systems.
  • Collaborates with radiologists, clinicians, and technical staff to support production of anatomical models and related outputs.
  • Supports development, optimization, and standardization of 3D printing workflows and procedures.
  • Performs quality assurance activities related to 3D printing processes, equipment, and outputs.
  • Assists with evaluation and implementation of new software, materials, and technologies related to medical 3D printing.
  • Maintains documentation, workflow tracking, and inventory related to 3D printing operations.
  • Provides technical guidance and training to staff and users of 3D printing technologies and workflows.
  • Assists with research and educational activities related to medical 3D printing as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with departmental safety procedures and operational standards.


Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, imaging sciences, health sciences, or related field required, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.


Experience Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in medical 3D printing, imaging, engineering support, or related technical field required.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of medical 3D printing workflows, image segmentation, and model preparation.
  • Advanced knowledge of software applications and systems related to medical imaging and 3D printing.
  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain specialized 3D printing equipment and related systems.
  • Ability to analyze technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to support workflow development, optimization, and standardization efforts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with radiologists, clinicians, engineers, and technical staff.
  • Ability to train and provide technical guidance to staff and users.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain organized workflow processes.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and operational standards related to 3D printing technologies and materials.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across operational, clinical, and technical teams.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $55.58 - $62.58 per hour
