Position Summary
The Digital Print Operator is responsible for maintaining and operating the large format digital printer and other associated printers
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Safely operate large format digital printers to add logos/decoration to blank sport surfaces.
  • Understand unique qualities of produced product and effectively modify printer settings per individual order.
  • Take direction and priority from Digital Print Lead or Department Manager
  • Load materials properly to ensure alignment
  • Be able to read and understand layouts from the graphic art department
  • Work with another team member to record accurate measurements for logo/decoration placement. Results must be verified on job documentation.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance per daily, weekly, and annual schedules
  • Recognize quality defects in the mats and the prints. Alert supervisor before proceeding.
  • Work within safety parameters as described in Dollamur’s hire and wear required PPE during tasks.
Qualifications
  • Must have previous large format printing experience.
  • Attention to detail Self-starter; must be willing to work in a team environment.
  • Willing to work OT and/or some weekends as required.
  • Experience working in an ambient temperature manufacturing environment a plus.
  • Must be able to work on your feet and knees, bend, stoop, and lift consistently for all scheduled hours.
  • Must be able to manipulate and move material weighing up to 100 lbs. either rolling, lifting, or using hand cart.
  • Highschool diploma or GED preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must be able to demonstrate understanding and perform all necessary skills to operate digital printers.
  • Must be able to complete specific operator certification course training.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors across a varied spectrum.
  • Must have problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to read and understand verbal English communication.
  • Ability to speak Spanish a plus but not required.
  • Ability to meet important deadlines in a sometimes fluid and stressful production environment.
  • Must be able to spot quality issues.
  • Must be comfortable and productive working independently and as part of a team.
  • Must understand the use of measuring tools, be able to read measurements, and do simple math including fractions and decimals.
Work Environment
  • This position will function in a manufacturing environment to fulfill essential duties. This role will regularly be required to sit, stand, kneel, crouch, walk, climb stairs. Must use eyes to focus on color matching art placement and quality of product. Occasionally this role will be required to move objects that may weight up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to loud noises, dust, dirt, and smoke may occur.
  • Exposure to ink, LED light and various chemicals used in printer operation.
  • Exposure to forklift traffic, sharp tools amp; objects, and moving mechanical parts.
  • Physical requirements to perform this job include standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 100 lbs., reaching, standing, kneeling, bending, and crouching. Must use eyes to focus and hands to operate equipment and tools.
  • Must comply with all PPE, including but not limited to gloves and safety glasses as required.
