Job description

We are looking for a Production Designer to join our team to support the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) Visual Information Production Center (VIPC).
Duties:
  • Responsible for the precision-focused production and finishing of all Agency collateral, maintaining top-tier quality in both print and digital outputs.
  • Creative design and development of print ready layouts with production output using large-format printers and high-end digital color printing equipment to produce posters, signage, displays, reports, bound documents and other related deliverables.
  • Requires knowledge and hands-on skills to fully utilize Xerox Versant 180 (or newer model) digital color presses and various binding, punching and cropping devices; large format printing using HP large format plotters; DVD replication and label printing using Primera Bravo series replicators; and badge printing using Fargo DTC series printers.
  • Verify accuracy of technical documentation to ensure that it is complete, meets editorial and government specifications based on strategic messaging, and adheres to standards for quality, branding, appropriate use of typography, content balance, and style format.
  • Demonstrate high-level technical aptitude by diagnosing and resolving hardware malfunctions and complex file compatibility issues under tight deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic, demonstrate initiative appropriate to the assignment with exceptional project management skills and ability to work in a very fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. Must be flexible and willing to adapt to support other duties as assigned.
At a minimum you should have:
  • A bachelor's degree in graphic arts discipline plus 1 year related work experience or an associates degree in graphic arts discipline plus 3 years related work experience; High School Diploma with 5 years
  • Must have and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance
  • Proficiency is a MUST in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.), Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, etc.) on Windows (PC) systems using Windows 11 operating system.
  • Ability to multi-task with exceptional organizational skills.
  • The capability to be self-directed, efficient, and dependable while working in a fast paced, high demand environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Meticulous proofreader and careful attention to detail.
You will be highly desirable if you have:
  • Experience supporting DoD programs
