This position is for an Engineering Lab Assistant/Inspector who works under minimal supervision, Performs hands-on technical work on engineering products, Confers with Engineers and lab technicians on details and specifications to build and modify a wide range of products. 

What You Will Do

  • Works under minimal supervision to provide technical build support to engineers and technicians on a variety of tasks. 
  • Performs moderately complex hands-on technical tasks that contribute to the completion of engineering projects and products. 
  • Works on circuit boards completing repairs, component insertion and replacement, and even inspection. 
  • Familiar with soldering techniques, both lead and lead-free. 
  • Builds cables and terminations for a wide variety of circuity types. 
  • Understands the engineering inspection and quality process and follows quality procedures. 
  • Reads prints, drawings, and schematics as needed to assist in the build process. 
  • Uses hand tools, scopes, soldering stations, and other devices with skill and precision.  
  • Demonstrates successful soft skills - communication, attitude, leadership, and professionalism. 

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience 
  • Experience reading prints, drawings, and schematics

The salary range for this role is 43,400 USD - 82,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
