Purpose of the Role

The Principal Data Strategy Analyst within the Office of Data & Data Science supporting People, Purpose, & Brand (PP&B) plays a key role in shaping and advancing data strategy in support of strategic priorities. Reporting into the Transformation, Intelligence, & Enablement team within PP&B, this role serves as a connector across business, transformation, technology, and enterprise data teams helping translate complex business challenges into actionable data strategies.. The role also partners closely with Enterprise Data & Data Science leaders to support and influence enterprise data standards, capabilities, and strategic priorities.

As a strategic partner and problem solver, this role drives enterprise-aligned data initiatives that strengthen PP&B capabilities and enable measurable business outcomes. Success in this role requires strong critical thinking, strategic development, communication, and stakeholder management skills, along with the ability to influence across a complex, matrixed organization.

You will help mature data strategy practices, support enterprise-wide initiatives, and embed data-centered frameworks into decision-making and ways of working. This role requires someone comfortable navigating ambiguity, building strategic narratives, facilitating alignment, and driving execution across cross-functional teams.

  • Translate complex business challenges into scalable data strategies and capabilities, aligned to business and enterprise priorities.  
  • Build frameworks to track progress, raise prioritization needs, and support investment decisions.
  • Establish strong partnerships across business, analytics, technology, and enterprise data teams to drive standards for data capabilities and maturity. 
  • Deliver executive-ready narratives, presentations, and recommendations that drive alignment and decision-making.
  • Improve data maturity, adoption, and strategic enablement across PP&B

Key Responsibilities

Data Strategy & Strategic Development

  • Help define and operationalize PP&B data strategy and policy practices aligned to enterprise standards
  • Translate business goals into actionable data strategies, roadmaps, and initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to improve data processes, decision-making, and organizational effectiveness
  • Research industry trends and emerging capabilities to inform future-state planning
  • Develop frameworks, success metrics, and governance approaches to measure outcomes and value

Problem Solving & Collaboration

  • Lead structured problem-solving efforts to address business and organizational challenges
  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative insights into clear recommendations and action plans
  • Assess trade-offs, dependencies, risks, and impacts to support strategic decision-making
  • Partner with analytics, digital experience, and transformation teams to align data strategies with business priorities
  • Support transformation initiatives by embedding data strategy into planning and execution

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the Director of Data Strategy and PP&B stakeholders
  • Build alignment through strong facilitation, communication, and relationship management
  • Develop compelling narratives, presentations, and executive-ready materials for diverse audiences
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional workstreams with clear priorities, timelines, and outcomes
  • Promote data literacy and data-informed decision-making through effective storytelling and communication
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in data strategy, data governance, strategic development, transformation, program management, analytics, consulting, communications, data governance, or related fields
  • Proven ability to lead strategic initiatives or complex workstreams with measurable business impact, experience partnering across business, data, analytics, and technology teams
  • Strong strategic thinking and critical problem-solving skills
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills, with ability to understand and communicate complex data concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and drive initiatives forward independently
