Title: Speech and Language Pathologist
Qualifications: Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology with required successful school internship or student teaching completed. Hold and maintain current licensure in Speech and Language Pathology in the state of Indiana in addition to a Indiana Professionals Boards License
Reports to: Building Principal, Director and Assistant Director of Exceptional Learners
Performance Responsibilities:
1.Use current theory and techniques in the field of speech and language pathology
(including evaluation)
2. Provide direct and indirect services in the area of speech and language for all students on
a caseload as well as students in the MTSS process
3. Work collaboratively with the special education teams at the building in order to help
develop positive planning for students
4. Knowledgeable about Assistive Technology to support language and improve academicachievement in general education settings; as well as low tech supports to teach and improve student communication
5. Maintain student records required by law, policies, and administrative procedures
6. Appropriately administer, score, and interpret specialized speech and language
Assessments
7. Participate on MTSS teams to support students in general education
8. Act as Teacher of Record (TOR) and Teacher of Service (TOS) for students on caseload, maintaining compliance with case conferences
9. Use cultural responsive text and curriculum to support the language development of students.
10. Properly document therapy sessions and remain organized to correctly bill Medicaid
11. In the event of an extended school closure or E-Learning, therapists will conduct teletherapy to maintain services, frequently communication with parent/guardians, and participate in virtual educational team meetings, etc.
12. Performs other assigned duties school leaders as requested
