Job Title: QA Engineer III EHR Testing

Location: Onsite Austin, TX

Job Type: Contract

Job Description: We are seeking a highly experienced QA Engineer III for an onsite opportunity in Austin, TX to support quality assurance efforts for an enterprise Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. This role requires hands-on experience with manual and automated testing, a strong background in healthcare systems, and deep familiarity with tools like UFT, Selenium, Katalon, JIRA, and ALM.

The ideal candidate will have 9+ years of experience in quality assurance, including EHR/EMR workflow testing, test planning, SQL-based data validation, and collaborative testing with stakeholders and end-users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test scripts aligned with business requirements.
  • Prepare and conduct UAT test cases, walkthroughs with stakeholders, and align tests with business needs.
  • Perform unit, integration, regression, smoke, user acceptance, system, and performance testing.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, project managers, clinicians, and QA teams to ensure testing effectiveness.
  • Track test case execution and defects using ALM and JIRA, and provide test progress reports and metrics.
  • Conduct SQL-based database validation and data migration testing.
  • Test clinical, practice management, billing, and interface workflows within the EHR system.
  • Mentor junior QA team members on EHR testing methodologies and tools.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • 9+ years of experience in writing and executing test cases and creating test plans.
  • 9+ years of experience managing test processes and executing manual and automated scripts.
  • 9+ years of experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, including practice management, clinical, interface, and billing workflows.
  • 9+ years of experience generating both manual and automated test scripts aligned with business needs.
  • 9+ years of hands-on experience with UFT (Unified Functional Testing) and scripting automation.
  • 9+ years of experience writing complex SQL queries for backend/database validation.
  • 9+ years of experience using ALM and JIRA for test management and defect tracking.
  • 9+ years of experience across various testing types: unit, integration, regression, smoke, UAT, system, stress, and load/performance.
  • 9+ years of experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and coordinate test execution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience with API testing and automation.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with HL7/FHIR standards.
  • 3+ years of experience with object-oriented programming principles.
  • 3+ years of experience with performance or load testing tools.
  • Experience working with or for a state agency is a plus.
