We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work at our Global Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, PA.
You will be a member of our Standard Plants Solutions (SPS) - Mechanical and Machinery Engineering Team and perform work supporting Bid and Project Development, Project Execution, and Product Development.

Required Skills / Abilities:
  • Knowledge of pressure vessels, piping, valve selection, and ASME Section VIII and ASME B31.3 Piping Codes.
  • Experience supporting Operations, Maintenance and Plant equipment.
  • Experience developing equipment specifications, equipment purchasing requisitions and vendor document review.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint.)

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Support of Prism Hydrogen Generators (PHG), O2 Vacuum Swing Adsorption (VSA), N2 Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA), Cryogenic Nitrogen Generators (HPN), and H2 PSA Product Lines.
  • Piping Class Material Specification development and specification of in-line components such as manual valves, relief valves, strainers, silencers, and piping insulation.
  • Review Customer requirements and modify product design as required.
  • Create vendor document requirement lists and review vendor documentation for specified components.
  • Review Air Products piping and vessel design for compliance with ASME and International Codes (ASME BPV, Section VIII; ASME B31.3). Use Compress Software to verify vendor vessel design.
  • Mechanical review of Piping and Instrumentation diagrams and selecting appropriate piping material specifications.
  • Support Operations and Maintenance, as required, on operating issues, repairs, and/or modifications to existing equipment and plants.
  • Participate in or support startup and commissioning and shop checkout of plant equipment, including on-site or remote support, development of checkout procedures, and follow-up on punch list items.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years of experience is required.
  • Knowledge of pressure vessels, piping, valve selection, and ASME Section VIII and ASME B31.3 Piping Codes are required.
  • Expected travel, approximately 10%, is based on business needs.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint.)
  • A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required.
