Job Description The purpose of this position is to provide the essential administrative processes, technical knowledge, and perform the work listed. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor's competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. This position serves as an Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects or performs moderately complex engineering assignments, evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques to a broad set of complex assignments.

Apply Cost Competitive Execution techniques to develop the most cost-effective total project solution for execution of the discipline engineering work Develop and review specifications, including design criteria Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve moderately complex engineering problems Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines Other duties as assigned Basic Job Requirements Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and eight (8) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner Professional registration and membership in technical society (preferred) Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials Effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting Practical field experience Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs Other Job Requirements Support initial equipment design. Develop size and weight estimates. Help select among commercially available vessels internals for defined Process requirements.

Develop Vessel Datasheets, Drawings, and Specifications. Develop equipment support & anchoring design. Compile requisition packages.

Provide professional interface with Clients and other Fluor engineering disciplines. Develop technical solutions to implement any identified design needs. Support vendor bid review and conditioning activities.

Chair bid clarification meetings. Validate vendor weight estimates. Review vendor drawings for technical compliance with PO's.

Chair regular vendor Action Item meetings. Provide interface between supplier and Fluor engineering disciplines. Collaborate closely with Designers and Modelers.

Validate dimensional change request for nozzles and other vessel appurtenances. Track design maturation of the model and communicate status with suppliers. Support fabrication and inspection activities.

Support closure of NCRs. Travel and physically attend shop testing (including hydrostatic testing) activities. Support logistics, material management, and PO close-out activities.

Provide progress and scheduling updates to Project Discipline Lead. Could potentially oversee the work of other Vessel Engineers. Preferred Qualifications Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in a related engineering field of study.

At least ten (10) years of experience including (8) within static equipment engineering. Maintain a deep understanding of the ASME BPVC. Be able to complete ASME Section VIII, Div 1 calculations using the COMPRESS software and through external means (e.g., hand calcs, spreadsheets)

Be able to read, interpret, and implement requirements of Sections II, V and IX. Be able to develop vessel weight and reaction loads estimates in COMPRESS. Familiarity is required for a wide range of Section VIII, Div 1 vessels, including vertical & horizontal drums, high pressure reactors, and trayed columns & towers.

Preference will be given to registered Professional Engineers, those with familiarity with the API tank standards (API-620 and API-650), and/or who participate in one or more Industrial Committees. Preference will be given to candidates with revamp and/or pressure vessel modification experience. Be proficient with AutoCAD.

Be able to develop and maintain vessel outline drawings. Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors. Ability to address detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
