Job description

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Lead in our Press department that will assist the supervisor in the direction of assigned work activities. As a working lead, this position will instruct, direct, and inform employees on work to be performed. As a working Lead Person, you will continue to perform your regular job/work function and duties.

Job Requirements:

  • Work safe and maintain an organized, lean work environment.
  • Strong commitment to good attendance and being on time is critical as attendance is vital to our operation.
  • Perform all functions of a Press Operator.
  • Will provide work direction, instruction, feedback and assist Press Department team in performance of job duties.
  • Explain use of tools, equipment and production process.
  • Confirm all employees report to work at the start of the shift.
  • Effectively and professionally communicate with employees across all levels and departments within APP.
  • Provide job cross-training when/where necessary.
  • Retrieve the forged part from the die and place into etch basket.
  • Maintain accurate part-counts of current production.
  • Assure quality and production requirements are met, as per job-specific travelers.
  • Act as first point of contact for troubleshooting and issue resolution or escalation.
  • Maintain regular communication with Lead A and Supervisor.
  • Perform any other duties not mentioned above when instructed to do so by the department manager.

Skill Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in a production environment.
  • Prior experience in a press department or forging would be a plus.
  • Wear proper Personal Protection Equipment in work area at all time.
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
  • In compliance with ITAR regulations, must be a US Citizen or US Person
  • English (reading, writing, and verbal comprehension)
  • Must be able to work overtime when required to meet operational deadlines.
  • Position involves constant rotation to move parts from press to basket.
  • Ability to frequently lift parts that can exceed 30 lbs. to and from press using material handling equipment for assistance.

Compensation: $21.00 - $25.00 an hour. This is the lowest to highest hourly rate we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
