What You'll Be Doing

In joining Stifel's Venture Banking Team, a Senior Vice President plays an integral role in building and supporting a regional client portfolio of technology companies. A Senior Vice President should feel confident in leveraging the resources spanning Stifel's banking & broader corporate platform to both lead debt processes and deliver a curated banking experience to entrepreneurs and their businesses. This dynamic role requires engaging with senior leaders inside and outside of the organization to understand technology and capital trends and how they impact the companies we work to support. The ideal candidate will have experience working with venture backed technology companies, the ability and network to develop strong relationships, and be a trusted advisor to technology companies and their investors.

What We're Looking For
  • Maintain a portfolio of technology company clients, which includes ongoing portfolio management responsibilities and effectively deploying Stifel platform resources to support clients.
  • Able to effectively drive deal processes, including loan underwriting, loan documentation and the loan closing process.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the venture capital ecosystem and firm products and services.
  • Recognizes and pursues opportunities to create and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders within the innovation ecosystem, including venture capitalists, founders and executives, and industry advisors.
What You'll Bring
  • Advanced knowledge in venture lending, underwriting, and portfolio management.
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, venture banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Interest in technology trends, key metrics, and capital markets impacting the innovation ecosystem.
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Strong team leadership skills to help coach, develop and retain team members.
Education & Experience
  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum Required: 7+ years of venture banking, commercial banking, investment banking, or private capital investing experience required.
Systems & Technology
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
