Front Desk Receptionist

Wake Endoscopy | Raleigh, NC

Wake Endoscopy is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Front Desk Receptionist to join our ambulatory surgery center team. This position plays a critical role in providing an exceptional patient experience while supporting administrative and clinical operations. The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to float between Wake Endoscopy centers throughout the Raleigh area as operational needs require.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and visitors by greeting them in person and responding to telephone inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
  • Collect and verify patient identification cards and insurance information
  • Ensure all required documentation is complete and that necessary forms are accurately signed by patients
  • Update patient accounts by recording personal and financial information in the revenue management system
  • Collect copayments and deductibles as required
  • Accurately record payments in the billing system or log and issue receipts for payments received
  • Balance upfront collections at the end of each shift
  • Notify clinical staff when patients are ready to proceed to the clinical area
  • Prepare patient charts for the following day
  • Protect patients’ rights by maintaining strict confidentiality of personal and financial information
  • Accept deliveries to the ASC as needed
  • Maintain business office inventory and equipment by monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies as necessary
  • Receive and open office mail as needed
  • Make bank deposits as required
  • Maintain strict adherence to the center’s policies and procedures; report discrepancies or needed process improvements
  • Attend all required education and training sessions
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Perform other administrative and miscellaneous duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One or more years of related experience, preferably in a healthcare or medical office setting
  • Strong multitasking abilities with excellent attention to detail and organization
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook required
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Professional demeanor with strong customer service and teamwork skills
