Job description

Provide formal and practical training, in classroom, warehouse and outdoor environments, to a group of associates via Alchemy Learning Management Software (LMS), videos, PowerPoints, lectures and hands-on instruction. Trainers will be responsible for the evaluation and training of New Hires and Rehires as well as Operations Leadership. Training area(s) of expertise: DOCS, RF Gun/Scanner, Warehouse Management System, Production, Receiving, Safety, Power Equipment (Forklift, Reach Lift, Order Picker, Pallet Jack), Operational Safety, Food Safety, general best practices etc.... All Operations Trainer will be supervising a warehousing team as well as operating a forklift in an Inventory Reconciliation room during peak season (Nov-Jan).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Major responsibilities of the position are listed below. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Other duties, assignments and specific projects may be assigned at the discretion of executive management.
  • Evaluate potential/current associates and provide feedback in training as well as communicate areas of concern or improvement to the recruiting team, associate, and his/her supervisor.
  • Conduct pre-employment evaluations of candidate's ability to operate various powered equipment. Evaluations will assess candidate's safety and effectiveness to operate equipment while providing recommendations on candidate placement based off assignment environment and business needs.
  • Conduct orientations and lectures in a classroom setting while utilizing various media and Alchemy LMS.
  • Effectively communicate and promote organizational policies and procedures to new and existing associates.
  • Track and maintain class attendance records, test scores and documents.
  • Provide additional training requirements for associates. This will include remediation, retraining, and recertifications.
  • Responsible for training employees on all functional aspects of their position, safety and food safety.
  • Train employees on how to use RF gun/scanner to input information into Warehouse Management System.
  • Facilitate 1 and 3 day practical training classes for all equipment Operators on various power equipment.
  • Conduct weekly On the Job Training (OJT) classes in various departments with presentations and hands on training.
  • Create and Implement new and existing SOPs, work aids, Train the Trainer instructional materials, and Alchemy course content.
  • Impact retention positively by fostering a respectful team environment that supports workplace values through professional communication, motivation and timely problem resolution.
  • Adhere to and promote safety procedures ensuring company quality standards and GMPs are met.
  • Conduct safety audits throughout the facility to advise various safety committees of any areas of concern. As well as create and present action plans to mitigate incidents or eliminate existing concerns.
  • Must be certified to operate safely and efficiently all equipment (electric/propane/gas counterbalance, stock picker, motorized pallet jack, and double reach).
  • Maintain organization of materials and work area and follow appropriate record keeping procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining and communicating productivity standards and key measure improvements.
  • Supervise a warehouse team during peak of season. This team is assigned to a room responsible for inventory reconciliation of damage, "lost", or returned product. Will be responsible for associates assigned to the team, product movement into and out of the room via forklift, identification and allocation of product in the WMS, and adherence to SQF guidelines.
  • Lead pre-stretching exercises (5-10 minutes).
  • Must be able to withstand a production environment with exposure to dust, varying temperatures and noise.
  • Perform other duties, special projects, assist with SQF audit, and works in other departments as assigned.
