Pay Rate: $20/hour (higher for candidates with coaching experience or a track record of success)
Schedule: MondayFriday after school, plus occasional game days
Start Date: Immediately

Position Overview

Prelude Prep is seeking an energetic and dependable After-School Soccer Coach for our 4th6th grade coed team, with an immediate start. Most of our players are beginners, and we need a coach who can build skills, confidence, and sportsmanshipwhile holding students to high expectations.

We want someone who believes that effort, discipline, and consistency lead to growth, and who can coach beginners with patience while still expecting strong focus and participation.

Responsibilities
  • Lead 1-hour after-school practices MondayFriday

  • Coach and supervise students during games (some weekday, occasional weekend)

  • Teach fundamental soccer skills (dribbling, passing, spacing, communication)

  • Establish and uphold clear expectations, routines, and safety procedures

  • Promote teamwork, effort, responsibility, and sportsmanship

  • Maintain a structured, encouraging practice environment

  • Communicate schedule updates with school leadership

  • Manage equipment and field set-up

  • Ensure safe supervision and dismissal procedures

  • Begin coaching immediately upon hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior coaching experience (youth, school, club, or rec league)

  • Personal experience playing soccer

  • Experience working with students ages 912

  • CPR/First Aid certification

  • Evidence of player development or team improvement

Minimum Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Must pass a background check

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

  • Positive communication with students, families, and staff

Compensation
  • $20/hour starting

  • Higher pay available for:

    • Prior coaching experience

    • Soccer skill or certification

    • Demonstrated success in improving player performance
