The ideal candidate values strong relationships, maintains high expectations, and understands that science is more than memorizing facts. It is about asking questions, analyzing evidence, solving problems, and making sense of the world.

โ€ข Use student data to monitor progress and adjust instruction
โ€ข Build strong relationships with students and families
โ€ข Collaborate with colleagues to improve outcomes for students
โ€ข Participate actively in coaching, planning, and professional development

Successful candidates will demonstrate:
โ€ข A passion for science and student learning
โ€ข Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
โ€ข The ability to make complex concepts accessible without lowering expectations
โ€ข Strong communication and relationship-building skills
โ€ข A growth mindset and willingness to receive feedback
โ€ข Professionalism, reliability, and initiative
โ€ข The ability to maintain high expectations while building strong relationships
โ€ข A commitment to continuous improvement

โ€ข Previous classroom teaching experience
โ€ข Experience working with middle school students
โ€ข Background in biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science, engineering, healthcare, technology, research, or a related field
โ€ข Experience tutoring, mentoring, coaching, leading youth programs, or working with children in another setting
Teaching certification is preferred but not required. We are willing to invest in the right candidate who demonstrates strong content knowledge, a commitment to student growth, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students.
Compensation and Benefits
โ€ข Salary: $55,000-$65,000
โ€ข Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS)

โ€ข Employer-paid life insurance
โ€ข Optional supplemental insurance benefits
โ€ข Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
โ€ข Optional 403(b) retirement savings plan
โ€ข Weekly coaching and professional development
โ€ข Opportunities for leadership and career growth
We Value Initiative
Interested candidates should apply online and are encouraged to follow up with our team.
We appreciate educators who take ownership, seek feedback, and demonstrate genuine interest in becoming part of the Prelude Prep community.
