Job description


Seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time Certified Nurse Midwife to join talented team providing care to women northeast of Durham, NC.
Position Summary/Duties:
  • Mon-Fri, 8am - 5pm
  • Will provide obstetric care from the new obstetric visit throughout pregnancy and including the postpartum visit as follows:
    • Complete the new obstetric exam with identification of any problems complicating pregnancy or pre-existent to pregnancy.
    • Initiate plan of care/diagnostic testing/interpretation of labs/treatment plan based on individual patient medical/surgical history.
    • Provide patient education relating to pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum care.
    • Perform FHR assessment, NST interpretation, cervical exam for labor assessment.
    • Provide comprehensive care and support to low-risk laboring patients, ensuring a safe and positive childbirth experience.
  • Will be responsible for management of gynecological patients for routine care and/or treatment of common gynecological problems including but not limited to:
    • All methods of family planning and counseling for reproductive life planning.
    • Routine Well Woman Exams and Pap Smears.
    • Screening and treatment for sexually transmitted infections.
    • Treatment for symptoms of Menopause/perimenopause.
    • Postmenopausal bleeding.
    • Pelvic/abdominal pain.
    • Routine Postoperative follow up and problem visits.
