Job description

Role Summary
Main function is to perform cleaning and building maintenance duties both inside and outside of the location/facility. This position may be required to perform cross-functional duties such as hiking cars, cashiering, filling in as a customer service representative, or driving a shuttle bus for off-airport locations.
Pay Rate: $16.60/hour
Available schedules:
Sun/Mon 3-11pm (evening) OR
Sat/Sun 10p-6a + Thurs 1p-9p
Essential Functions
  • Performs janitorial or other duties as assigned daily utilizing the proper equipment and following all safety precautions.
  • Uses proper lifting techniques to assist with facility/office equipment and/or furniture moves and meeting set-ups as needed or requested.
  • Cleans windows, vents, and fixtures; sweeps and/or mops walkways, steps, and restrooms if needed. Keep maintenance shop in clean and safe order if applicable.
  • Pushes dumpsters from location to trash collection area while using proper safety precautions to avoid injury.
    • Removes snow from walks and steps with a shovel, tractor or snow blower as appropriate for amount and location of snow. Puts sand and salt on walks and steps during icy/slippery conditions. Must utilize proper safety precautions when performing snow removal to avoid injury.
  • Remain vigilant for anything unusual or potentially threatening and inform management immediately.
  • Monitor work area and property for safety and security.
  • Reports any accidents, hazards or maintenance requirements, and the presence of any suspicious individuals or activities immediately to a manager.
  • Recognize potentially dangerous situations and respond in the safest and most effective manner.
  • Participate in all safety and security trainings within the market.

Depending on location/market needs, may also be required to do the following:
  • Hand or power wash customer or company vehicles (cars, mid-size or large pickup trucks, or shuttle buses).
  • Drive and park customer and company vehicles (cars, mid-size and large pickup trucks) in confined areas such as garages/surface lots/underground facilities; may be required to drive a shuttle bus if located at an off-airport location.
  • Perform cashier-related duties or fill in as a customer service representative greeting customers and answering any questions that they may have as they enter and exit the facility.
  • Perform general handy-man duties including simple repairs of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical facets of garage.
  • Coordinate delivery of tickets, oil absorbent, light bulbs and other maintenance related items from maintenance shop to locations.
  • Identify and tag broken ballasts for landlord replacement.

Required Qualifications
  • Ability to perform the basic functions as stated above.
  • Depending on location needs, may need to possess math skills sufficient to calculate time and money in order to assist with Cashier related duties.
  • If position requires person to drive and/or park customer and company vehicles (cars, trucks, shuttle buses) then must be able to drive an automatic transmission. Some locations may require the ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.

Eligibility Requirements:

    • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in US.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age. If working at an off-airport location, you must be 21 years or older based on airport requirements.
    • Must be willing to submit to and pass a drug test and background investigation
  • Ability to grasp, push, scoop, and lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Must be able to bend and walk through parking lot or move up and down parking garage ramps in order to ensure the garage is clean and in order. May be required to walk up and down stairs depending on the location.
    • Must possess vision and hearing faculties sufficient to perform essential functions.
    • Must be willing to work in a parking location/garage/booth/office in Chicago, IL
  • Must be willing to work the following schedule: Sun/Mon 3-11pm (evening) OR
    Sat/Sun 10p-6a + Thurs 1p-9p
  • Valid driver's license may be required if performing driving, parking or valet related duties. Some states may require that the valid driver's license be from the state in which an employee works.
  • May need to pass a MVR/Driving Record check as part of the selection process depending on the position requirements.
  • If driving a shuttle bus at an off-airport location, must be able to sit for extended periods of time and be willing to take a physical as part of the selection process as required by airport or state regulations.

Desired Qualifications
  • HS Diploma or GED.
  • Prior knowledge and experience with cleaning, general repair/maintenance, or electrical repair
  • Prior customer service industry experience.
  • Experience and ability to drive manual and automatic transmission passenger and/or shuttle bus vehicles depending on location.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment depending upon customer volume, shift, season, etc.
  • Positive and professional attitude with strong communication skills in order to facilitate interactions with co-workers, superiors, and customers.
  • Excellent dependability and time management skills.
  • Strong customer focus and team-orientation.
