Role Summary: This position functions to protect employees, patrons, and company property and to guard against theft, vandalism and illegal entry. Essential Functions: * Monitors physical surroundings throughout location for safety and functionality. * Responds quickly and courteously to patrons' needs, questions, comments or concerns with answers and/or action. * During special events, acts in managing crowd/traffic control. At event's end, walks through assigned areas and ensures the facility is cleared out. * In cases of emergency, actively assists in safeguarding patrons and follows escalation procedures as necessary. Required Qualifications: * HS Diploma or GED. * Minimum of 1 year of law enforcement experience. * The ability to drive an automatic transmission vehicle may be required depending on location and/or position. Eligibility Requirements: * Must have unrestricted authorization to work in US. * Must be currently employed with Chatham, Bryan or Effingham County Police Departments. * Depending on location, a valid Driver's License may be required. * Must be willing to submit to a drug test, background investigation and MVR/Driving Record check as part of the selection process. * Must be able to navigate through parking lot(s) or garages and must be able to move to interact with customers/employees/visitors in a timely manner. * Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time. * Must be willing and able to work outdoors at times exposed to weather elements in order to perform security duties. * Must possess hearing and vision faculties sufficient to perform essential functions. Desired Qualifications * Strong problem solving skills: Ability to think clearly and act quickly in emergencies while providing excellent customer service. * Ability to operate and communicate clearly and concisely to facilitate interactions with co-workers, superiors, and customers.
