SCOPE OF POSITION:

The Print Production Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day execution, process control, quality discipline, scheduling adherence, material coordination, and continuous improvement of the print production operation. This role provides dedicated leadership in the print room to ensure production targets are achieved without compromising quality, customer commitments, or process standards. The position requires hands-on knowledge of the print production industry, including digital print equipment, media/laminate handling, color and sample verification, environmental/process controls, finishing handoffs, and the operational discipline required to run a reliable, high-output print production environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage print production operations by overseeing daily and weekly schedules, balancing capacity, staffing, material availability, and customer commitments to ensure on-time delivery and efficient workflow execution.
  • Drive operational excellence and process control through floor-level leadership, adherence to standard work, quality checkpoints, visual management practices, and performance metrics that improve throughput, uptime, predictability, and overall production effectiveness.
  • Ensure quality, compliance, and material readiness by maintaining rigorous inspection standards, coordinating production materials and consumables, identifying defects early, and implementing corrective actions to prevent disruptions and nonconforming product.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and communicate performance results by partnering with Operations, Planning, Quality, Customer Service, and Product teams to align priorities, manage risks, resolve constraints, and provide reporting on production performance, delivery commitments, and improvement initiatives.
  • Develop people and foster continuous improvement by leading staffing, training, coaching, and skill development efforts while identifying process gaps, equipment constraints, and workflow inefficiencies to drive sustainable improvements in quality, productivity, and cost performance
Qualifications KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Operations, Manufacturing, Print Production, Graphic Communications, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in print production, digital printing, manufacturing operations, or a related production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of print production processes, equipment, quality standards, material handling, finishing operations, and production workflow management, with demonstrated experience managing schedules, capacity, labor planning, and material readiness in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to leverage production metrics, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and visual management tools to improve quality, throughput, uptime, efficiency, and overall operational performance.
  • Strong ability to interpret technical and production documentation, lead and develop teams, communicate effectively across functions, and drive problem-solving, accountability, and collaboration in a manufacturing environment.
