Belcan is seeking an experienced EDM Technician to support a leading aerospace manufacturer specializing in the repair and production of precision aerospace components. This position is ideal for a skilled machinist with Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) experience who enjoys working in a precision manufacturing environment where quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail are critical.

Position Summary:
The EDM Technician is responsible for setting up and operating Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) equipment to manufacture precision aerospace components that meet engineering drawings and customer specifications. In addition to machining responsibilities, this role supports quality processes by preparing material samples for metallurgical evaluation as required.
Key Responsibilities - As an EDM Technician, you will:
- Set up and operate EDM equipment to manufacture precision aerospace components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, operation sheets, and work instructions.
- Select the proper tooling, cutting tools, and machining parameters to produce quality parts.
- Perform machine setups and proactively prepare upcoming jobs to maximize machine utilization.
- Inspect machined components using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Verify parts meet dimensional and quality specifications prior to inspection.
- Prepare and run material samples for metallurgical evaluation as required.
- Complete production documentation accurately.
- Perform work independently while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company quality, safety, and manufacturing procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Previous EDM machining experience or strong CNC machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Experience setting up and operating EDM equipment or comparable precision machining equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment, including: Micrometers, Calipers, Gauges, & Other precision measuring instruments
- Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications - Candidates with the following experience are strongly preferred:
- Wire EDM experience
- Sinker EDM experience
- Aerospace manufacturing or aerospace MRO experience
- CNC machining and machine setup
- Precision machining of close-tolerance components
- Experience supporting metallurgical sample preparation or quality evaluation
- Experience working in AS9100 or ISO-certified manufacturing environments

- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Candidates must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship (U.S. Passport, Real ID, or Birth Certificate) during the hiring process.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
- Candidates hired into MRO operations are subject to DOT/FAA drug and alcohol testing requirements, including random testing.
