Job description

Job Title: Precision Machinist (CNC Mill or CNC Lathe Specialist) 

Location: Fenton, Michigan 

Hours: 6AM -4:30 PM, M-F Hours may vary during first week of training (days) 

Pay: $18-20 an hour depending on experience

We are seeking a skilled Precision Machinist specializing in CNC Mill or CNC Lathe programming and machining. Duties: 

  • Program, Edit and Optimize CNC programs for Mill and or Lathe operations.  Knowledge of G&M codes preferred.  

  • Set up machine including material, tooling selection, offsets, and fixture alignment. 

  • Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings to accurately produce complex parts. 

  • Select proper cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials. 

  • Operate CNC Mill or Lathe to manufacture precision components. 

  • Monitor machine operations and adjust as necessary to maintain tolerances. 

  • Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.). 

  • Maintain production efficiency while ensuring adherence to quality standards. 

  • Inspect and document parts as required on inspection sheets. 

  • Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality surface finishes. 

  • Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements.

Qualifications 

  • 2+ years of CNC machining experience (Mill or Lathe specialization).
