Position Summary

Bridge Brothers is seeking a Civil Engineer specializing in concrete and precast construction to support our growing Construction Division.

This role will lead the design and analysis of cast-in-place and precast concrete systems that support bridge construction and installation operations. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience designing structural concrete elements, anchor systems, and steel-to-concrete interfaces while maintaining a strong focus on constructability and field execution.

You will work closely with engineering, project management, fabrication, and field teams to ensure designs are structurally sound, efficient to install, and aligned with project schedules.

This position offers strong technical ownership and the opportunity to grow into a lead structural role within the department.


Key ResponsibilitiesCivil Concrete amp; Precast Design
  • Design cast-in-place concrete foundations, pedestals, abutments, walls, and related structural components

  • Design and review precast concrete elements and their connections

  • Perform structural calculations for anchor systems, embedments, and base connections

  • Analyze steel-to-concrete interfaces and structural load paths

  • Ensure designs comply with applicable ACI, PCI, and structural codes

Engineering Analysis amp; Technical Oversight
  • Perform structural analysis for permanent and temporary conditions

  • Evaluate crane loads and installation-related structural impacts

  • Develop and review reinforcement detailing and embed layouts

  • Provide stamped calculations where required

  • Maintain engineering documentation and calculation packages for project records

Construction Integration
  • Participate in drawing reviews with construction leadership

  • Identify constructability risks early in the design process

  • Support field teams with technical solutions during installation

  • Conduct site visits as required to evaluate structural conditions

Continuous Improvement
  • Evaluate recurring field challenges and recommend improved standard details

  • Assist in developing internal engineering standards and best practices

  • Support initiatives to strengthen structural engineering processes within the division


QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering

  • 5+ years of experience in structural concrete design

  • Experience with cast-in-place and precast concrete systems

  • Strong understanding of anchor systems and embed design

  • Proficiency with structural analysis software

  • Working knowledge of ACI and PCI standards

Preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license

  • Experience in bridge or heavy civil construction

  • Field experience supporting construction or installation operations
