We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Structural Designer to support bridge engineering projects across South Carolina. This role is responsible for developing complete design plans from initial layout through final detailing for review and markup by engineers, ultimately producing plans ready for bid and construction. The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills, independence, and a commitment to mentoring junior staff. We are looking for someone who not only brings technical expertise but also a passion for collaboration. Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop/design horizontal bridge layouts using MicroStation or OpenBridge Modeler
  • Prepare detailed structural element drawings in MicroStation or OpenBridge Modeler
  • Produce complete, high‑quality plan sets with minimal supervision
  • Perform quantity calculations and vertical geometry computations
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members
Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree in Civil Technology or related field and 7+ years of experience; or High School Diploma/equivalent with at least 10+ years of structural detailing experience
  • Proficiency with Bentley Systems software, including MicroStation, GEOPAK, and OpenBridge Modeler
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members across multiple office locations
