What are Pre Teens?

Pre Teens, also known as 'tweens,' are children typically between the ages of 9 and 12, just before they become teenagers. This stage is characterized by significant physical, emotional, and social changes as children begin to develop more independence and form their own identities. Pre Teens often start middle school, experience early puberty, and show increased interest in friendships and extracurricular activities. It's an important developmental period where guidance and support from adults are crucial.

Can you get a job at 12?

In Ohio, minors can work at age 12 with a work permit and must adhere to restrictions on hours and types of jobs, typically limited to certain non-hazardous roles like babysitting or yard work. Employers must follow child labor laws set by the Fair Labor Standards Act and state regulations to ensure safety and compliance.

Can I get a job at 13?

Pre Teen jobs are generally limited by child labor laws, which in most states, including Missouri, restrict employment to individuals aged 14 or 15 for most non-agricultural work. At age 13, opportunities are typically limited to family businesses, babysitting, or community service roles, and formal employment usually requires meeting minimum age requirements. Employers must comply with federal and state child labor regulations to ensure safe working conditions for minors.
