Job description

Avanciers is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead onsite project execution for complex technical and electrical projects. This role will oversee field activities, ensure safety and quality standards, manage project schedules, and serve as the primary point of contact between customers, contractors, and internal teams.

Role: Technical Project Manager

Location: Houston, TX (Onsite)

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (Temp-to-Perm)

Travel: Up to 50% travel required. Primary site is Brownsville, TX, with travel to other Texas and U.S. project locations as needed (typically 1–2 trips per month, each lasting 1–2 weeks).

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead onsite execution of electrical infrastructure and electrification projects. The ideal candidate will oversee field engineering activities, ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards while serving as the primary technical liaison for customers and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage onsite engineering and construction activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate installation, commissioning, inspections, and field execution to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Lead issue resolution, maintain project schedules, and communicate project status, risks, and progress to stakeholders.
  • Oversee field documentation, punch lists, safety walkdowns, and project close-out activities.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting for electrical, mechanical, and controls systems.
  • Manage subcontractors, field personnel, and customer relationships to ensure successful project delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of construction, field engineering, or project management experience with electrical systems.
  • Experience with ATS, UPS, Switchgear, commissioning, and EPMS/SCADA environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, one-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience using project scheduling tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading cross -functional field teams.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.
  • Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and successful project delivery.
