Our Pet Policy is a leading pet policy management platform that partners with property management companies nationwide to improve pet policy compliance, reduce property risk, and enhance the resident experience. Through innovative technology solutions, we help operators streamline pet screening, assistance animal accommodation processes, and overall pet-related compliance management.

We are looking for a motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) who will play a critical role in generating qualified opportunities for our sales team. The ideal candidate combines excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a foundational understanding of property management operations.


Key Responsibilities

Prospecting and Outreach

  • Research, identify, and engage property management companies, owners, and operators to generate new business opportunities.
  • Conduct cold calls, email campaigns, and LinkedIn outreach to prospective clients.

Qualification

  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand the unique needs of property managers, including compliance, pet-related risk management, and resident satisfaction.
  • Qualify leads and schedule product demonstrations for Account Executives.

Collaboration and Handoff

  • Maintain close collaboration with Account Executives, ensuring qualified prospects are transitioned smoothly.
  • Provide detailed notes in the CRM regarding prospect pain points, operational needs, and buying signals.

Market Knowledge and Insight

  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of property management workflows, fair housing considerations, compliance requirements, and resident engagement practices.
  • Stay informed about Our Pet Policy product features, industry trends, and competitor offerings.

Tracking and Reporting

  • Meet or exceed weekly and monthly activity metrics, including calls, emails, meetings booked, and demos scheduled.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within CRM systems such as HubSpot or Salesforce.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in business development, sales, or customer-facing roles (SaaS, proptech, or multifamily industry experience preferred).
  • Familiarity with property management operations, leasing workflows, compliance considerations, or resident relations strongly preferred.
