Job description

This position is responsible for the development of the Subsurface Utility Engineering Practice for Western US and provides over-arching guidance for field and office personnel engaged in related project pursuits and delivery of SUE services.

T2 Utility Engineers specializes in providing reliable underground and above-ground utility information to reduce the risks that utilities present for infrastructure projects. T2ue helps clients manage the complexity of existing utilities with our professional and comprehensive Subsurface Utility Engineering, Utility Coordination, and Surveying services.

Our mission is to provide project stakeholders with quality utility information, professional insight, and deliverables that streamline construction, improve project safety, and set the standard for the utility engineering industry. Since 1993, our reputation has been built on providing incomparable service based on high standards of technical ability and project understanding.




Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Industry engagement - participation in SUE Industry and other professional organizational committees Nationaly
  • Board(s) and/or multiple sub-committees
  • UESI Utility Professional certification program
  • Other programs, as appointed
  • Training – participation and leadership of internal QA/AC trainings Nationally
  • Supporting Chief Engineer role, developing standards and socializing their promulgation within T2ue among field and office staff
  • Conduct sessions; administer company policies, guidelines and standards
  • Workflows – Complete for the full complement of SUE quality levels, as part of T2ue’s National standards initiative
  • Share among respective operations, leading pilots and teams as needed
  • Incorporate to training and roll-out programs
  • Guide Operational segments with implementation of standard SUE practices
  • Throughout the Western Business Unit
  • Influencing companywide practices
  • Within acquired businesses
  • Support select Business Development and Proposal efforts for the West, leveraging existing and past Industry relationships
  • Develop and nurture cross-training measures between SUE and Survey.
  • Within existing Western operations
  • Influencing same, companywide
  • Across newly acquired operations


Qualifications:

Deep Industry knowledge as evidenced by previous SUE experience, and active participation and engagement in Industry and educational forums aimed at spreading the word of ASCE 38, ASCE 75 and related service offerings.

PE or PLS desirable, but if not certified, then candidate must possess:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience within the Engineering (AEC) Industry with demonstrated, applicable management responsibilities, shown while working closely among SUE Industry professionals.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization from field and office staff to executive and intercompany leaders.
  • Willingness to travel; and otherwise to engage creatively with others, through conference calls and other means.
  • Strong desire to develop and promulgate a broad-based QA program, and a passion for applying the “T2ue way” while enhancing it through learned and practical experience.
