Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond. Together, we advance your career.
THE ROLE
We have a brand new opportunity due to growth for an Engineering Technician - AI Data Center Systems (Servers & GPUs) to support the bring-up, debug, and sustainment of AI data center servers and GPU-based compute platforms. This role works closely with hardware, systems, and infrastructure engineering teams to enable reliable, high-performance AI compute at scale. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI and GPU compute systems, including exposure to next-generation data center technologies in a collaborative engineering culture. This opportunity is an on-site, Lab-based role in our Austin Texas Engineering Lab.
THE PERSON
You are highly motivated and have an ability to work independently while supporting fast-paced engineering teams. You are also known for your strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
You bring successful previous experience including hands-on hardware skills, work experience in lab or data center environments and the ability to troubleshoot complex server and GPU issues under tight schedules.
Your excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills have helped you build a track record of working collaboratively and efficiently with engineers, technicians, and operations staff at all levels. And most importantly, you have a consistently safety-focused mindset when working around high power and cooling systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, configure, and maintain AI servers, GPU platforms, and related infrastructure
- Perform system bring-up, debug, and validation of server hardware, GPUs, and interconnects
- Execute hardware modifications, including:
- Cable routing and management (power, networking, high-speed interconnects)
- Installation of GPUs, NICs, memory, storage, and accelerators
- Test point installation, probing, and signal measurements
- Diagnose and troubleshoot:
- Power, thermal, and cooling issues
- Server boot failures, GPU detection issues, and PCIe errors
- Hardware faults such as shorts, damaged PCBs, or marginal components
- Support failure analysis and root-cause investigations
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (hardware, systems, facilities, IT, safety)
- Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, changes, and test results
- Support lab and data center operations, including rack builds, rework, and audits
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Hands-on experience with:
- Server hardware or data center systems
- GPU or accelerator-based platforms
- Strong understanding of:
- Power delivery, cooling, and airflow in high-density systems
- PCIe, networking, and high-speed interconnects
- Experience using lab tools such as:
- DMMs, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers
- Comfortable working in ESD-controlled lab and data center environments
- Ability to lift and rack servers (with assistance as required)
- Experience supporting AI platforms in the semiconductor industry
- Familiarity with Linux-based systems and basic command-line diagnostics
- Experience with:
- Liquid-cooled or hybrid-cooled server systems
- High-power GPU racks (multi-kW per rack)
- Prior work in hyperscale data centers, engineering labs, or NPI environments
- Ability to read schematics, BOMs, and hardware debug documentation
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
- Associate degree or trade education certification in Electronics, Computer Engineering or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Related certifications are highly desirable
This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
