Job description

Salary: $19.00/ Hour

PVB Fabrications, Inc. (PVB), a direct-hire, multi-disciplined industrial construction, and metal fabrication company is seeking a Helper 3 (Core Technician) to support our client's mining geological Core Logging Facility. This position is regulated by Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) but it's not an active mining operation.

Type: Full-Time

Base Work Location: Tucson, AZ (Near I-10 & Wilmot)

Hourly Rate:$19.00


Anticipated start date: 01/19/2026

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Photographing geological core samples
  • Moving/Handling geological core samples
  • Prepping/Shipping
  • Splitting, sampling, and palletizing drill core and other geological material in support of company operations
  • Data entry using Microsoft Excel/Word

Qualifications (REQUIRED)

  • Must pass pre-employment substance abuse testing.
  • Basic Computer skills
  • Have a minimum of 1 year experience in a heavy industrial workplace.
  • Must be flexible with schedule and ability to work at various local sites if needed.

Skills/Abilities

  • Must have knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office software
  • Some travel to other worksites outside of the Tucson area may be required
  • Must be able to lift up to 35-50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both in writing and verbally

Schedule Must be flexible!

  • Four (4) Ten (10) hour days
  • Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday (Assigned by the client after hire)
  • Schedules are assigned by the client and may change based on production requirements.
  • Other potential schedules could includeWednesday-Saturday or Sunday-Wednesday.
