LMI is seeking an experienced and skilled Microsoft 365 Product Owner / Business Analyst to with demonstrated experience in business process automation work to support the U.S. Army in automating human resource processes and workflows. LMI is helping the Army Materiel Command have better visibility into their workforce and automate their human resources processes using the Microsoft Power Platform suite. The ideal candidate has experience in generating requirements using human centered design principals, mapping current state and future state processes, and has experience using the power platform to improve processes.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Lead requirements elicitation activities HR Automation initiatives using human-centered design (HCD) principles
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops, interviews, and design sessions with Army Materiel Command (AMC) G1 functional leads and end users
  • Document and validate business, functional, and technical requirements in collaboration with product owners and developers
  • Map current-state ("as-is") HR processes and design optimized future-state ("to-be") workflows
  • Identify automation opportunities across HR lifecycle processes (e.g., awards, workforce reporting, personnel actions, data reconciliation)
  • Develop detailed process maps, user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog artifacts in alignment with Agile methodologies
  • Translate business requirements into Microsoft Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse)
  • Support development teams by clarifying requirements, participating in sprint ceremonies, and validating delivered functionality
  • Ensure data governance, security, and role-based access considerations are incorporated into solution design
  • Develop dashboards and reporting requirements to enhance workforce visibility and decision-making
  • Conduct user validation sessions and support user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Support change management and user adoption activities, including documentation and training materials
  • Collaborate with technical architects to ensure scalable, secure, and sustainable solutions
  • Continuously assess business processes for optimization, standardization, and automation opportunities
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Active Secret clearance (required)
  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Business Administration, Information Systems, Public Administration, Human Resources, or related field
  • 10+ years of professional experience as a Product Owner / Business Analyst supporting federal or DoD clients
  • Demonstrated experience supporting business process automation initiatives
  • Experience applying Human-Centered Design (HCD) principles to requirements gathering and solution design
  • Proven ability to map and analyze complex business processes (current and future state)
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse)
  • Experience developing user stories, acceptance criteria, and Agile backlog artifacts
  • Strong facilitation skills and ability to engage senior government stakeholders
  • Experience working with HR systems, workforce analytics, or personnel data (preferred Army or DoD experience strongly desired)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment supporting digital transformation initiatives

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting the U.S. Department of Defense, with prior Army or AMC experience strongly preferred
  • Experience developing in the Microsoft 365 platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse)
  • Direct experience with Army HR processes, personnel systems, or workforce analytics
  • Experience working with enterprise HR systems and data integrations
  • SAFe Agilist, Scrum Master, or other Agile certification
  • Human-Centered Design certification (e.g., LUMA, IDEO, or equivalent)
  • Microsoft Power Platform certification(s)
  • Experience supporting large-scale digital transformation or enterprise modernization initiatives
  • Experience implementing role-based dashboards and workforce analytics solutions

Target salary range: $100,000 - 175,000

The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation. Individual salaries are determined by various factors including, but not limited to location, internal equity, business considerations, client contract requirements, and candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, skills, and security clearances.
