A Poultry Hatchery Manager oversees the daily operations of a hatchery, ensuring the successful incubation, hatching, and healthy development of chicks or poults. Their responsibilities include managing staff, maintaining equipment, monitoring incubation conditions, and ensuring biosecurity protocols are followed. They also keep records, coordinate with suppliers, and implement best practices to maximize hatch rates and chick health. This role is essential for maintaining the quality and efficiency of poultry production.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a poultry hatchery manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Poultry Hatchery Manager, you need a solid background in animal science or agriculture, experience in poultry management, and knowledge of hatchery operations and biosecurity protocols. Familiarity with hatchery automation systems, environmental control technology, and industry certifications such as NPIP (National Poultry Improvement Plan) is often required. • Provide internal training and perspective on poultry industry operations, hatchery workflows, and equipment performance to help TARGAN teams deepen their industry knowledge.
  • Gather testimonials, references, and feedback to support marketing initiatives and strengthen TARGAN’s market presence.

Scalability & Continuous Improvement

  • Consolidate learnings across producers to identify scalable practices and opportunities for operational efficiency and improved system performance.
  • Contribute to tactical and operational planning for each hatchery customer, ensuring alignment with TARGAN’s strategic objectives.

  • Solid understanding of systematic maintenance principles and hatchery operations.
  • Proven experience with capital equipment and recognized experience in poultry hatcheries.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and goal‑oriented mindset.
  • Ability to translate customer experience into meaningful feedback for TARGAN and respond appropriately.
  • Self‑starter with strong time‑management skills and the ability to achieve agreed‑upon goals.
