Location Description
Michael Foods, Inc. located in Mars Hill, Maine. Pineland Farms is one of the largest food manufacturing organizations located in Aroostook County. Our Mars Hill facility has over 200 incredible team members who work together to provide our customers with the best possible potato product.
Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY:
The position is responsible for the operation the automated case packer robot.
This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Uses computer console to configure SKU settings.
• Observes product moving through conveyor system to detect defect packaging, misalignment and correct as needed.
• Supplies robot case packer with shippers.
• Stops equipment to clear jams. Inform lead and/or supervisor, or maintenance, of any equipment malfunction.
• Maintain records related to production, including date codes and product labels.
• Follow all SQF principles pertinent to your position as specified by the SQF Practitioner.
• All food safety and human safety concerns need to be reported to appropriate personnel such as QA technician, Safety Manager, FSQ Manager, etc.
• Ability to embrace change productively and to handle other tasks as assigned.
• Also responsible for sanitation process within the packaging area, along with other production staff. Typically, complete sanitation in the Ambient, Spiral Chillers and Binoveyor rooms. In these areas use of standard chemicals including but not limited to chlorinated products and sanitizers.
• Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
• Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
• Other duties as assigned.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 6 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts and extreme cold.
