Registered Nurse

Job Title: Registered Nurse

Profession: Nursing

Shift: Night

Hours per Shift: 12

Experience: Minimum 2 years of full labor and delivery experience, including postpartum care.

License: Active nursing license required.

Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRPS.

Must-Have: Must have full labor and delivery experience and postpartum care. Epic experience is preferred. First-time travelers are welcome. Weekend requirement: minimum of every other weekend or 8 weekend shifts.

Description: Nursing staff will work in labor and delivery, postpartum, and well-baby areas. Staffing will align with professional staffing standards. Resource nurses will assist as needed. On-call requirements are not applicable. Floating within scope of practice to meet facility needs is mandatory. The patient population includes healthy to acutely ill childbearing individuals, including high-risk cases and their newborns. Conditions treated include hypertensive disorders, pregnancy or infant loss, and various complex health issues. Staff members will assist with high-risk deliveries and various clinical procedures. Training may include the administration of medications, assessments, and patient education. The role requires the administration of blood products, assistance during vaginal deliveries, and emergency interventions as necessary. Staff will be involved in care for multiple births, breastfeeding support, and discharge teaching. The environment necessitates strong clinical skills and teamwork across disciplines. Please note that this is a high-risk unit. Candidates are expected to demonstrate comprehensive nursing skills. Knowledge of both routine and advanced procedures in labor and delivery is essential. All applicants must provide professional references. A strong commitment to patient care in dynamic environments is required.
