Packaging Technician


JOB DESCRIPTION

The Packaging Technician assembles bulk-trimmed cannabis and rosin cartridges into saleable finished goods. Under the direction of the Post Production Manager, the Packaging Technician begins the assembly process of packaged cannabis products for resale while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, quality control, and professionalism. This role is responsible for product and loss tracking, ensuring products are packaged and accounted for in accordance with company policy and state regulations. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares packaging supplies (jars, mylar bags, case packs, etc.) at the beginning of each shift.
  • Begins the packaging process by measuring, packaging and labeling products with a high level of accuracy (trimmed cannabis and rosin cartridges).
  • Calibrates the scale at the beginning of every shift to ensure accurate measurements.
  • Appropriately labels packaged goods in accordance with company policy and state regulations.
  • Records metrics for all raw material processed during each shift and the packaged output.
  • Reports metrics to Post Production Lead.
  • Assists with Fresh Frozen harvests.
  • Ensures all functions are performed to the highest standard of quality, compliance, and successfully conforms to all state regulations, organizational standards and procedures, and security protocols.
  • Works successfully in a team setting, takes instructions well, and helps on tasks as delegated by Lead or Manager.
  • Manages time efficiently in order to meet productivity goals (250 units per day) while consistently producing quality work.
  • Minimally handles the cannabis while processing to preserve the product’s integrity.
  • Maintains the highest level of cleanliness and sanitation inside the processing area and participates in the clean-up of equipment and the workplace at the end of every shift.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs product inspection for irregularities, particulates and other contaminants.
  • Performs document review of compounding activities such as line clearance forms and stat sheets.
  • Verifies that raw materials meet specifications.
  • Verifies that all documentation is complete.
  • Minimally handles the cannabis while processing to preserve the product’s integrity.
  • Documents non-compliance and works with Manager and/or Lead if further action is needed.
  • Submits all waste to the appropriate location for particulate identification or microbial analysis if needed, and disposes of, in accordance with company policy and state regulations.
  • Assists with maintenance record files.
  • Assists with raw material release and movement.
  • Supports internal & external audits.

  • Don proper PPE in the workplace, at all times.

  • Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat.
  • Ability to bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds.
  • Ability to use hands repetitively for grasping, pushing, pulling and cutting.
  • Must be motivated, focused and have a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to adapt to change and shifting priorities.
  • Any additional duties as determined by Management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/ETC.

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of the cannabis plant.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current medical and recreational marijuana laws.
  • Experience in a dispensary or assembly line production environment recommended.

Specific state regulatory requirements also include verification, confirmation or completion of the following:

  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age; pursuant to A.R.S. §36-2801.10
  • Must consent to a criminal background check performed by the Company and/or the Arizona Department of Health Services, pursuant to A.R.S. § 36-2804.01
  • Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of the criminal background check conducted by the Arizona Department of Health Services, pursuant to A.R.S. §36-2804.01 and A.R.S. §36-2801.10
  • Valid Arizona State Issued ID
