Position Purpose
The Post-Closing Operations Support Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring mortgage loan files are accurately reviewed, prepared, and delivered to investors in a timely manner. This position supports the post-closing team by assisting with file shipment, identifying and addressing investor pre-purchase conditions, and conducting pre-shipping quality reviews. The role also provides cross-functional support to the Secondary Marketing team, including loan locking and processing updates as needed.
Position Responsibilities
Post-Closing Operations Support
  • Prepare and ship closed loan files to mortgage investors in accordance with delivery timelines and investor guidelines.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal teams to resolve outstanding conditions in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate tracking of file shipment status and outstanding investor requirements.

File Review & Quality Control
  • Assist the Post-Closing Team Lead with pre-shipping reviews to ensure loan files are complete, compliant, and investor-ready.
  • Verify documentation accuracy, completeness, and adherence to investor and regulatory standards.
  • Help identify and mitigate potential delivery issues prior to shipment.

Secondary Marketing Support
  • Provide operational support to the Secondary Marketing team as needed.
  • Assist with locking mortgage loan rates in accordance with company policies and market conditions.
  • Process lock changes, extensions, and related updates accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure data integrity within loan systems relating to lock and pricing details.

Additional Duties
  • Support special projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with reporting, pipeline tracking, and audit preparation as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall operations and team efficiency.

Minimum Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of mortgage operations, post-closing, secondary marketing, or related experience preferred.

Technical Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong understanding of mortgage loan process, documentation, and investor delivery requirements.
  • Familiarity with loan origination systems (LOS) and post-closing or investor delivery platforms.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Compensation
  • Base Salary Range: $25.00 - $34.00 hourly. Final determination of where you are at in the salary range is based on numerous factors such as geographical location, relevant experience, skill set, education, and ability to meet qualifications within the job description.
  • Additional Compensation: This role will include a yearly annual target bonus based on individual performance.

Working Arrangements
  • This is an in person role in our Rockville or Annapolis, MD offices.
