Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented IT Business Analyst to bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions. This role will partner with stakeholders across merchandising, supply chain, store operations, and finance to analyze processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and support the delivery of scalable, cost-effective systems.
The Business Analyst will be accountable for defining the objectives and desired outcomes of change, while assessing the potential impact to the organization. This role must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of management both within and outside of the IT department.
Qualifications, Competencies, and Principal Responsibilities by Level
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather, document, and validate requirements for IT systems and enhancements
  • Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications for development teams
  • Proactively identifies and resolves issues by determining root causes, evaluating impacts, and delivering solutions that improve system performance, business processes, and user experience.
  • Support implementation and optimization of systems (ERP, POS, WMS, e-commerce platforms)
  • Facilitate workshops, user story creation, and backlog grooming in Agile or hybrid environments
  • Perform data analysis to support decision-making
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure solutions meet business requirements
  • Create documentation, training materials, and process flows
  • Act as a liaison between IT, vendors, and business teams

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in retail or consumer-facing industries
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, etc.)
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and system integrations (APIs, EDI)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of retail operations (merchandising, inventory management, store operations)
  • Experience with retail systems such as Oracle Retail ERP, POS, WMS, or e-commerce platforms
  • Certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or Scrum-related credentials
  • Experience in discount, high-volume, or omnichannel retail environments
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Proficiency in Power BI or Tableau a plus
