Job description

CET is hiring a Program Consultant I, focusing on CT Residential Energy Programs
In this full-time role, you will work with homeowners as part of the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) and the Connecticut residential energy team. As a Program Consultant, you will provide outreach, screening, and application assistance for customers. 
Applicants for this position must be located in Connecticut, Southern Massachusetts, or Rhode Island. 
This is a remote position; however, candidates will be required to attend in-person meetings throughout the year and must have a valid driver's license, an acceptable driving record, and access to reliable transportation. 

Essential Job Functions

In this position, you will:

  • Provide customer intake and scheduling services and communicate program information to customers and prospects over the phone and through email.
  • Educate customers about available program offers. Administer hotlines and email communication and responds to customer inquiries and problem solving professionally and effectively.
  • Schedules applicable program services with qualified customers using scheduling software.  Enter data into appropriate platforms to track customer interactions and results.
  • May conduct quality checks of customer files, data reports, and/or technical service schedules. 
  • Act as liaison with vendors, partners, customers, and other stakeholders, as required.


The Skills You Bring:

  • At least 2 years of customer service experience and written communications experience.
  • 1 year of energy-related experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to establish rapport with customers, clients, vendors, and coworkers on the phone, over email, and in meetings.
  • Experience in CRM platforms is helpful, such as Salesforce.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work with multiple programs and deliverables in a collaborative environment.
  • High-speed Internet access and a working location free from distractions and interference during business hours. 
  • Ability to speak Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian, or Chinese is helpful but not required.
