Description -

HP Advanced Compute Solutions is seeking an experienced engineering architect to innovate, define and design our Desktop Workstation platforms aligned to current and future customer workflow requirements. This person will be part of the Future Architecture and Technologies Team providing technical expertise and leadership to anticipate, imagine, and innovate future platforms, components, and solutions. This role is based in Fort Collins, Colorado but will communicate and align closely with HP global planning teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Create platform concepts, definitions, and plans and contribute to portfolio strategies in partnership with other planning technologists and product planners. Influence and enable cutting edge technology, design, and experiences into future solutions.
  • Deeply understand workstation customer workflows and strategic technology trends and use these insights to propose competitively advantaged solutions with the highest performance, richest features, and leadership market value.
  • Actively seek HP unique innovation and differentiation and fully align to our customer's solution requirements anticipating and driving future technologies into solution choice points.
  • Create and contribute to technology planning roadmaps, detailed performance data and projections, and solution components to plan and optimize our portfolio advantages in the market.
  • Collaborate and influence within engineering and cross-functionally throughout the business to interpret and translate customer insights, champion and defend customer portfolio and solution objectives, and maintain course during product development.
  • Drive solution, platform portfolio, and module-level strategies to enable greater differentiation and leverage and optimize to lower cost, complexity, and investment.

Education & Experience:

  • 10+ years total experience in Engineering with focus on electrical engineering design (PCBA Design, Power, HSIO, Memory). Experience with product strategy, product planning, and compute workflows is highly advantageous.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering or electrical engineering and significant experience with compute architecture.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • A successful candidate will operate both collaboratively and independently, challenging traditional approaches and constraints, defending and aligning customer benefits and impacts, and validating a strong business impact and ROI.
  • Candidates must have flexibility and commitment to work in both US and occasionally global time zones to actively coordinate business investigations, planning, and communications in support and defense of portfolio and solution requirements.
  • Strategic thinking, communication and presentation are key requirements for this role. Candidates will approach planning from a customer perspective driving solution requirement rather than component requirements and apply business acumen to guide decisions and align stakeholders.
  • Advanced project management skills including schedule and risk management, resource prioritization, and structuring and guiding projects that are not fully defined to execution handoff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to gather insights and apply both engineering and business judgement to accelerate decisions.
