JOB SUMMARY:  

The Tan Tan Pool Server is responsible for providing prompt, efficient, courteous, professional beverage and food service while ensuring all guests' needs are met and their expectations are exceeded. 

Requirements

 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Delivers quality products to the guest in a friendly and professional manner and accordance with hotel standards. 
  • Performs all opening and closing duties as listed on side work assignment sheet. 
  • Answers all questions regarding the menu accurately. 
  • Takes food and beverage order accurately and in a timely fashion and enters in the computer. 
  • Handles financial transactions accurately and in accordance with established procedures. 
  • Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, recook orders, and product availability.  
  • Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen. Record transaction in system at time of order.  
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages. Pick-up trays and clean tables as needed to ensure a clean dining area. 
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the day.  
  • Maintain cleanliness of work and guest areas by clearing, collecting and returning food and beverage items to proper area.  
  • Present physical and accurate check to guest and process payment. 

SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required 

  • One + years' experience as a pool server in high volume, luxury hotel or resort environment. 
  • Thorough knowledge of food and beverage terminology and service techniques. 
  • Exceptional guest services skills. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Basic computer skills, and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend and lift trays weighing up to 25 pounds repetitively during entire shift. 
  • Able to work a flexible schedule to include mornings, afternoons, evenings,?weekends and holidays 
  • Current California food handler card and responsible beverage service certificate or ability to obtain within first 30 days of employment.
