Job description

The Snack Bar Server will provide friendly, efficient and responsive service towards all members and their guests.  Responsible for assisting with the preparation of beverage and light lunch menu items in the snack bar. Responsible for maintaining sanitation and upkeep of all equipment.

  • Be visible and available for members and guests at all times.
  • Monitor and anticipate needs of members and guests insuring timely drink refills and expedient service.
  • Provides immediate attention to all members and guests upon arrival/call.
  • Answer questions and recommend food and beverage items.
  • Takes members’ and guests’ orders at Snack Bar and poolside.
  • Mixes, prepares and serves drinks to members and guests and mixes according to the recipes approved by the food and beverage manager.
  • Checks ID of any member or guest who looks underage.
  • Places orders with kitchen; informs cooks about any special cooking instructions.
  • Provides members and guests with food and beverages, as requested and according to Shady Canyon standards.  
  • Verifies accuracy of charges on all checks.
  • Charges bill to member’s account.
  • Keeps outside pool area and snack bar clean.
  • Advises supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur.
  • Performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned by manager.
  • Records tips daily and turns in signed tip declaration form daily.
  • Requisitions food, beverages, and supplies, as needed.
  • Thanks members and guests; invites them to return.
  • Consistently follows local and state laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages to members and guests.
  • Employee may perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the company as requested by the supervisor.

  • Thorough knowledge of restaurant operations including foods, beverages, supervisory aspect, service techniques, and guest interaction.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with members and employees, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information and to resolve problems.
  • A minimum of 2 years previous Food & Beverage experience at a fine dining establishment preferred.
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
