Pool Repair Technician
Looking for a job that's professional, rewarding, and gets you outdoors? Pool Scouts of South Jersey is hiring an experienced Pool Repair Technician for a seasonal position with full-time or part-time opportunities.
This position is primarily focused on diagnosing, repairing, and installing residential pool equipment While some scheduled pool cleaning and maintenance will be required, the primary responsibility is identifying equipment issues, recommending solutions, providing repair estimates, and completing quality repairs.

  • Starting at $20/hour, with higher pay based on experience

The Position
As a Pool Repair Technician, you'll be responsible for diagnosing equipment issues, performing repairs and equipment installations, and educating customers on recommended solutions. You'll also complete detailed service notes, prepare repair estimates, and communicate professionally with homeowners.
Although this role is centered on repairs, technicians may also perform pool cleaning and maintenance services as needed throughout the season.
Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot pool equipment problems
  • Repair and install pumps, filters, heaters, salt systems, automation systems, valves, timers, plumbing, lights, and related equipment
  • Evaluate equipment and recommend appropriate repairs or replacements
  • Prepare repair estimates and clearly explain findings to customers
  • Perform equipment inspections during service visits
  • Complete repairs safely, efficiently, and to company standards
  • Perform routine pool cleaning and maintenance as scheduled
  • Test and balance pool water chemistry
  • Inspect equipment for potential concerns during every visit
  • Safely operate a company vehicle
  • Document work performed using company mobile applications
  • Maintain a clean, organized work vehicle and inventory
  • Lift and carry equipment and materials (up to 50 lbs)
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Other duties as assigned

Ideal Candidate
  • Minimum 3 years of professional pool repair experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Knowledge of pool plumbing and equipment operation
  • Comfortable communicating directly with customers
  • Able to provide accurate repair recommendations and estimates
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and professional
  • Positive attitude with excellent customer service skills

Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of pool repair experience required
  • Experience repairing and installing pumps, filters, heaters, salt systems, plumbing, automation systems, valves, timers, and related pool equipment
  • Ability to diagnose equipment failures and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Experience creating repair estimates and documenting completed work
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a nationwide background check
  • Comfortable working outdoors throughout the summer season
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
  • Comfortable using smartphones, email, and mobile applications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Pentair, Hayward, Jandy, and Raypak equipment
  • Experience with salt chlorine generators and automation systems
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting experience
  • CPO Certification (preferred but not required)
