JOB DESCRIPTION
The Marriott Phoenix Resort Tempe at The Buttes is looking for a talented Pool Technician to join our amazing team at this one of a kind resort.
About The Marriott Phoenix Resort Tempe at The Buttes:
This resort offers breathtaking valley views, over 40,000 square feet of versatile indoor and outdoor event spaces, and 353 newly renovated guest rooms. 

Responsibilities:
A pool technician responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of swimming pools by regularly testing water chemistry, adding necessary chemicals, cleaning pool surfaces, inspecting and repairing pool equipment like pumps, filters, and heaters, and addressing any issues related to pool maintenance and safety.
Water quality maintenance:
Regularly testing pool water pH levels, chlorine levels, and other chemical parameters, adjusting chemicals as needed. 
Pool cleaning:
Skimming debris from the water surface, vacuuming the pool floor, brushing pool walls and tiles. 
Equipment maintenance:
Inspecting and cleaning pool filters, pumps, heaters, and other equipment, identifying and repairing malfunctions. 
Leak detection and repair:
Identifying and fixing leaks in pool plumbing and structure. 
Pool opening and closing procedures:
Performing seasonal tasks like draining and winterizing pools, or opening them for summer use. 
Inventory management:
Ordering and maintaining necessary pool chemicals and parts. 
Safety compliance:
Adhering to local pool safety regulations and ensuring proper pool operation. 
Required skills and qualifications:
  • Basic understanding of pool chemistry and how to balance water levels 
  • Knowledge of pool equipment operation and maintenance procedures 
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot common pool problems 
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor tasks like lifting heavy equipment and working in various weather conditions 
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients
