Position Summary

The Materials Pickup & Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for ordering, purchasing, receiving, and delivering construction materials, equipment, and supplies to job sites. This position works closely with project managers, estimators, warehouse personnel, vendors, and field crews to ensure projects remain on schedule by maintaining efficient material flow and inventory.

Key Responsibilities

Purchasing & Ordering

• Order materials, supplies, and equipment based on project schedules and purchase requests.

• Obtain pricing and negotiate with vendors to secure competitive costs.

• Verify orders for accuracy before purchasing.

• Monitor lead times and proactively communicate delays.

• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships.

• Research new products and suppliers to improve quality and reduce costs.

Material Pickup & Delivery

• Pick up materials from suppliers and deliver them to job sites safely and efficiently.

• Verify quantities and inspect materials before accepting deliveries.

• Ensure materials arrive on time and in good condition.

• Secure and safely transport all loads according to DOT regulations.

Inventory & Warehouse

• Maintain inventory of commonly used materials.

• Track stock levels and reorder before shortages occur.

• Organize warehouse and storage areas.

• Perform routine inventory counts.

• Maintain accurate records of issued materials.

Project Support

• Coordinate material deliveries with project managers and field supervisors.

Qualifications

• Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record.

• Ability to tow trailers (preferred).

• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Jobber, QuickBooks, or similar software).

• Ability to lift 75+ pounds regularly.
