Design for Leisure (DFL) is a team of hydrothermal spa specialists that  bring European-inspired hydrotherapy concepts to life. Our expertise in building best-in-class wet areas ranges from luxurious residential thermal suites with acclaimed hydrothermal circuits for 5-star hospitality projects and luxury commercial developments. 
DFL specializes in the design, construction, installation, and commissioning of custom spa pools, saunas, steam rooms, cold rooms, and thermal wellness facilities for luxury hotels, resorts, private clubs, and residential developments throughout the United States and internationally.

What we are looking for

Design for Leisure (DFL) is seeking an experienced Working Foreman to join our U.S. construction team.
This is a hands-on field position. We are looking for someone who can lead pool, spa and wellness construction efforts, as well as manage a crew, coordinate work on the jobsite, maintain DFL's quality standards, and work alongside the subcontractor teams when required.
This position requires extensive travel. Candidates must be prepared to travel regularly between projects and work weekends, evenings, or extended hours when required to meet project schedules and site conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead DFL installers and subcontractors on site.
  • Coordinate work with the General Contractor and other trades.
  • Read and understand construction and MEP drawings.
  • Plan daily work and monitor progress.
  • Check dimensions, elevations, penetrations, and site conditions.
  • Identify clashes and coordination issues early.
  • Maintain DFL quality and safety standards.
  • Coordinate materials, deliveries, and equipment.
  • Complete daily reports, progress photos, and site documentation.
  • Assist with punch-list work, testing, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Take ownership of site issues and drive them through to resolution.
 
Experience

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following:
  • Commercial construction
  • Swimming pool construction
  • Pool mechanical and filtration systems
  • Spa and wellness construction
  • Sauna and steam room installation
  • Mechanical / plumbing installation
  • MEP coordination
  • Commercial hospitality fitout
  • Waterproofing systems
  • Tile and specialty finishes
  • Equipment-room / mechanical-room installation
  • Luxury hotel and resort construction
 
Previous experience as a Working Foreman, Field Supervisor, Lead Installer, Assistant Superintendent, or Superintendent is preferred.
