Job description

The Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center is seeking a full-time Certified Pool Operator for an immediate opening. This position will be responsible for the chemical balancing and operational maintenance of the aquatic complex and leisure amenities. Previous experience working as a CPO or in facility maintenance preferred. Advancement opportunities are available. Benefits including insurance, paid time off, and retirement savings plan available.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Regularly test and monitor pool and spa water (chlorine, pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness)
  • Adjust chemicals to maintain safe and compliant levels• Keep records of water testing and chemical usage
  • Order and maintain pool chemical inventory• Operate pumps, filters, heaters, and chemical feeders
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and repair minor mechanical issues
  • Work closely and communicate regularly with Aquatics Director regarding pool status, challenges, and needs
  • Assist with other facility maintenance as needed
  • Ensure compliance with local and state health regulations

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification
  • Previous pool maintenance experience preferred
  • Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work outdoors and lift equipment as needed
  • Dependable and detail-oriented
  • Must feel comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Schedule may require early mornings, weekends, evenings, or on-call shifts
  • Possess the ability to work with a team as well as independently
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills for completing repairs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Have the physical ability to climb ladders, crawl into small spaces, and stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Physical strength and dexterity to lift, move and handle heavy equipment
  • Ability to work in extreme hot or cold environment
