Position Title: Experienced Aquatic Applicator - Lake & Pond Maintenance Technician
Location: Charlotte County, Florida
Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Availability: Fall 2026

Gulf Coast Aquatics is a leading lake and pond management company founded in 1987. We maintain aquatic areas for our customers which include homeowners’ associations, management companies, property owners, golf courses, and other properties. We pride ourselves on high quality service and client satisfaction across Charlotte County, Florida and the surrounding areas.

Position Summary

Gulf Coast Aquatics is looking to hire Aquatic Applicators with experience in Lake & Pond Maintenance and Fountain & Aerator Maintenance for part-time and full-time roles. This position will treat and maintain lakes, ponds, stormwater basins, and other bodies of water in Charlotte County, Florida and the surrounding areas. They will also be involved in the installation and maintenance of fountains, aerators, and water features. If you are passionate about Florida’s aquatic environments, enjoy hands-on outdoor work, and are eager to continue building your career in lake and pond management, we encourage you to apply. Prior experience in aquatics management is required. Candidates with more limited experience to those with long-term experience will all be considered.

Essential Duties

  • Apply aquatic herbicides and algaecides to lakes, ponds, stormwater drainage areas, and similar aquatic areas to control aquatic vegetation and algae
  • Operate a backpack sprayer, a small boat mounted with sprayer, and truck mounted with sprayer in various outdoor environments
  • Install, repair, and maintain fountains and aeration systems
  • Deliver excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients
  • Work with the General Manager to review new and existing client sites, assess their needs, and determine treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate records of treatments and services to keep customers and the General Manager informed and to adjust treatments/schedules as needed
  • Support the General Manager in procuring and preparing chemical inventory, maintaining company application equipment, and keeping a clean, safe, and organized work environments

Requirements

  • Strong work ethic with a passion for working outdoors
  • Professional time management, organizational, and communication skills
  • Comfort speaking with customers to discuss their lake and pond needs and treatments
  • Comfort driving a pickup truck, at times towing a small trailer, and operating a small boat
  • Experience with aquatic vegetation control and the use of aquatic herbicides/algaecides, or experience in a related area (e.g., pest control, landscaping, estate management)
  • Experience with fountain and aeration system installation, repair, and maintenance is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds (equipment, chemical containers, supplies), especially for day-to-day backpack sprayer usage
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, and kneeling on uneven terrain
  • Ability to work outdoors in Florida conditions, including heat, humidity, and sun
  • Ability to work from boats or shorelines safely including being a strong swimmer

Special Conditions of Employment

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Our insurance company must accept you as an insured prior to employment
  • Able to pass pre-employment background and motor vehicle record review
  • We especially encourage candidates who possess a Florida Commercial Applicator License for the Aquatic category, Natural Area and/or Right of Way licenses, or who can obtain this license within 30-60 days of start date. Candidates without a license will be subject to additional oversight in their role.
