Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Cleaning Supervisor, the Cleaner is responsible for cleaning and maintaining in good order those areas of the plant assigned. The Cleaner is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the Polytainers facility, including the production floor, shared spaces, and offices. The Cleaner may be assigned to any of the following departments/areas: Printing, Molding, Shipping, Graphics, Warehouse, and the Administration Offices.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:
The core responsibilities and expectations of the Cleaner are as follows:
  • Maintain and keep a state of good order and cleanliness as outlined in the Current Good Manufacturing Practices Manual as to comply with the requirements of our Safe Quality Food (SQF) certification.
  • Engage in sweeping, mopping, spraying, and sanitizing various common areas.
  • Update and complete cleaning logs accurately once tasks are completed.
  • Frequently review cleaning logs for daily responsibilities and complete cleaning tasks proactively and in a timely manner.
  • Handle chemical cleaners and specialized cleaning equipment like the Tennant Machine.
  • Follow all applicable procedures, wear appropriate protective equipment, and conduct tasks in a safe manner.
  • Complete special projects as the needs arise and at the request of the Cleaning Supervisor or the Facilities Manager.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Educational Requirements: N/A
Minimum Experience/Field: No experience necessary
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift more than 20 pounds, engage in prolonged standing, walking, and bending, and reach above and below shoulder height
Communication Skills: Fluent in English with good verbal and written communication skills.
