Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Material Handler reports to the Molding Shift Supervisor and is responsible for delivering packing supplies to the Molding production floor from the Warehouse, and to deliver molded skids to the Warehouse.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Responsible for stacking, wrapping and delivering completed molded skids, ensuring the boxes are placed on the skid as per the packing specifications
  • Tightly wrap the skid so that the boxes are properly secured
  • Create Pallet ID for all skids of products produced
  • Perform Molding and IML production MP transaction scanning
  • Deliver the wrapped skid to the warehouse for storage using an electrical pallet jack
  • Assist in transporting products for QC to and from the Warehouse
  • Responsible to keeping records of pallet ID created during MP transaction for tracking purposes
  • During the shift, the Material Handler must replenish all packing supplies at the scheduled machines by following IPS at the machine and sign off line clearance sheet
  • Replenish empty skids on the production floor
  • Remove broken or damaged skids to the warehouse
  • Replenish the tape machine when it is empty
  • Keep records of corrugates, liner bags and U boards brought to production floor for traceability
  • Responsible for Line Clearance during product change
  • Collect purge and drool during the shift, as well as scrap bags from the production floor and place it in blue bins as needed.
  • Clear any scrap products lying around the machine area and place them into scrap bins as needed
  • Responsible for re-charging the battery of the electric pallet jack when low
  • Perform daily checks on the pallet jack and keep records, reporting any issues to the supervisor
  • Perform other duties as assigned
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience/Field: Previous experience handling the electric pallet jack would be an asset
Licenses/Permits Required: Certified in operating a walkie pallet jack
Communication Skills: Fluent in English with good verbal and written communication skills
Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the Physical Activity Demands listed below
CORE COMPETENCIES FOR THIS POSITION
  • Must have the ability to lift more than 20 pounds, stand and walk for long periods of time
  • The Material Handler position includes reaching above and below shoulder height, kneeling, bending, and repetitive movements such as gripping, grasping, pushing and pulling
