Job description

This is a full-time position working 40 hours a week. There is no per diem and no relocation funding.
Combo Welder/Pipefitter
The Combo Welder/Pipefitter will join metal parts, such as pipe or metal plates as specified by layout, blueprints, work orders, welding procedures or oral instructions through the application of heat or electric arc-welding equipment. Must also be able to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Weld structure and pipe FCAW and TIG (carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum).
  • Must be a Journeyman Pipefitter with Industrial experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Poly Pro/PVDF piping and welding
  • Knows how to prioritize daily tasks.
  • Able to work with little to no supervision on new projects or assignments
  • Must have good understanding of equipment/processes
  • Should demonstrate adaptability
  • Effective communication skills to communicate with customer and supervision

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and technical school certification preferred
  • Typically requires 5+ years of experience

Required Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate all necessary tools and equipment
  • As directed, assembles pipe sections, tubing, or fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, or welding equipment
  • Extensive knowledge of Poly Pro/PVDF piping and welding
  • Ability to read and understand prints
  • Diagnose piping issues and correct in the field

Working Conditions
  • Potential to frequently work with and be exposed to materials which contain hazardous chemicals
  • Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include weather, heat, and humidity
  • May have to work in a clean room
  • May have to position oneself in a tight fitting, FAB environment
  • May be required to support and/or work shift duties in a 24x7 manufacturing environment

Computer-Based Work & Technical Proficiency
- The role involves extensive use of computers for data entry, documentation, analysis, and internal communication.
Candidates must be comfortable and proficient in the full suite of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, etc.) and able to learn new office applications quickly.
- Familiarity with enterprise CMMS (Computer-Aided Maintenance Management System) software and Confluence is required for daily task management, issue tracking, and collaboration.
