What does a political data analyst do?

A remote Political Data Analyst collects, processes, and interprets political data to help organizations, campaigns, or government agencies make informed decisions from a remote location. Their work typically involves analyzing voter demographics, election results, polling data, and social media trends to identify patterns and predict outcomes. They use statistical software and data visualization tools to present their findings clearly, often supporting campaign strategy or policy development. Working remotely, they collaborate with team members through digital communication tools and manage data securely online.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a political data analyst?

To thrive as a Political Data Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, expertise in statistics, and a background in political science or a related field. These abilities ensure accurate insights, effective reporting, and impactful decision-making in the fast-paced and data-driven world of political campaigns or policy analysis.

Job description

About the role and team

Working at Uber means solving hard problems in a high-stakes, fast-moving environment. As a Data Analyst II, you will help drive the analysis behind company-wide decisions related to our support experience and build scalable tools that enable stakeholders to act upon insights. You will need to take ownership, stay adaptable, and build with both urgency and care in an environment where the pace is intense and the stakes are high.

This role is for someone sharp, steady, and motivated by meaningful service at scale. You will turn complexity into clarity at speed, navigate competing priorities, and lead through influence, not control. If you are energized by challenge and motivated by real-world impact-this is where you will grow.

Rate of Pay:                 $141,773 to $170,127 per Year

You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits. More details can be found at the following link https://www.uber.com/careers/benefits.

What you'll do

  • Drive in-depth financial analysis to ensure the accuracy and relevance of key metrics, aligning them with the Financial Operations Team.
  • Tackle ambiguous problems to uncover business value with minimal oversight.
  • Effectively communicate the "so-what" of an analysis, illustrating how insights can be leveraged to drive business impact across the organization.
  • Address complex, ambiguous business challenges by developing clear, consistent, and actionable metrics that provide transparency and track business performance at the highest levels.
  • Foster a culture of high-standard data practices, enhancing the analytical capabilities of the Finance Operations Team.
  • Design, build, and maintain sophisticated dashboards and KPIs, providing the Finance Team with real-time insights into the company's financial health and strategic performance.
  • May telecommute.

Basic Qualifications

  • Employer will accept a Master's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, or related field and 6 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
  • Position requires:
    • Transforming data into business insights using Tableau;
    • Performing scalable analysis using R or Python;
    • Database query languages including SQL;
    • Debugging and monitoring for production services;
    • Data analysis to impact financial strategies;
    • Ensuring data integrity and accessibility;
    • Statistical analysis, including descriptive statistics, correlation, regression, or confidence intervals;
    • Program/project management.

Ready to Ride?

This isn't the kind of place where you follow a playbook - it's where you help write one. If you're driven by impact, energized by challenge, and ready to shape how the world moves - we'd love to hear from you.

You may be eligible for bonuses, equity, and other compensation, as well as a range of benefits. Explore our benefits.
