Position Description

Valiant Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Policy, Compliance, and Training Lead to direct the Policy & Compliance resources and provide senior-level expertise in Risk Management Framework (RMF), compliance tracking, Section 508 accessibility, and the development of the enterprise-wide Security Awareness and Training Program. This individual will serve as the subject matter expert, ensuring IT security policies, compliance activities, and workforce training initiatives align with federal mandates, organizational objectives, and emerging cyber risks. The SME will partner with stakeholders across business, technical, and compliance domains to drive governance, foster a culture of security awareness, and strengthen overall cybersecurity posture.

Required Experience

  • 4-6 years of cybersecurity experience with demonstrated expertise in policy, compliance, and training
  • Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) in a cyber-related field; direct experience or certifications may substitute for academic credentials.
  • Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST standards, and federal compliance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity and privacy laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Ability to assess and mitigate risk, conduct audits, and provide assurance reporting.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex compliance requirements into actionable guidance and training.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, CAP) are preferred
  • Experience supporting federal compliance programs and audits.
  • Background in Security Management Support Services.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead policy initiatives, resolve business and technical challenges, and present findings to senior executives.
  • Proven experience leading and executing executive presentations, demonstrations, and reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate cybersecurity consultations where system teams are introduced to OCISO processes and Authorization and Assessment (A&A) requirements, documenting actions, decisions, and follow up items.
  • Analyze the impact of Binding Operational Directives (BODs), Executive Orders, policy changes, and evolving security standards, and develop implementation plans to ensure compliance.
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of the enterprise Security Awareness and Training Program, including training materials, campaigns, workshops, and effectiveness metrics.
  • Analyze data from cybersecurity audits and Security Risk Assessments to identify trends, emerging risks, and opportunities to strengthen the organization's security posture.
  • Serve as the senior stakeholder for IT security policy, compliance, and cybersecurity training initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, and compliance documentation aligned with RMF, NIST, and organizational requirements.
  • Oversee RMF and NIST-based compliance tracking, reporting, and audit readiness activities.
  • Ensure cybersecurity, system, network, and Section 508 accessibility requirements are incorporated into IT projects, contracts, acquisitions, and procurement activities.
  • Advise executive leadership on compliance risks, policy gaps, workforce training strategies, and cybersecurity program performance through briefings, presentations, and reports.
  • Partner with IT and cybersecurity process owners to align compliance, governance, and training initiatives with operational objectives.

The salary range for this position is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. It has been benchmarked in relation to the scope of the role, market rate, and internal equity. The salary for this role is expected to be in the $120,000 - $135,000 range. Where a candidate falls within the band can be determined based on one or more of the following: skillset, experience level, achievements, education, geographic location, security clearance, involvement in corporate tasks, and other non-discriminatory factors. In addition to the base salary, this role will include benefits as described above.  Valiant reserves the right to adjust the salary range, experience requirements, and position responsibilities at any time without prior notice.
